LIVE TO DIE

In a few weeks the research project will be finished. When we started “batchillerat” last year this research seemed a distant thing. However, this week we are required to submit the draft. We have been working hard since the end of the last course, everyone has done her best. This research seemed an endless project  but now time is running out to finish it.

Firstly, I didn’t know what research to  do, then I decided to do a research about suicide and attempted suicide. During the summer I went to HGV (Hospital General de Vic), there I had to review all the clinical records of people who had made attempted suicide between 2006 and 2011. It was a slow work to do, but finally I finished it. I got the information about accomplished suicides from "Partit Judicial de Vic". I had to analyze and compare all the information carefully, make graphs, and finally make conclusions.

I am loking forward to finishing my  research project and not have to think again witht it.

I would like to understand why some people decide to finsih with their life with this drastic way.

“The obsession with suicide is characteristic of the man who can neither live nor die, and whose attention never swerves from this double impossibility.
Emil Cioran (1911-1995) Romanian philosopher and essayist.

“Nowadays not even a suicide kills himself in desperation. Before taking the step he deliberates so long and so carefully that he literally chokes with thought. It is even questionable whether he ought to be called a suicide, since it is really thought which takes his life. He does not die with deliberation but from
deliberation.”
Soren Kierkegaard (1813-1855) Danish philosopher and writer.

A WALK TO REMEMBER

Hello, today I am going to write about one film which I saw few days ago. These days I have a lot of exams, some days ago I decided to watch a film to relax and rest a little. The film which I am going to talk about is "A walk to remember".

Is it possible that the most popular, famous and cool boy of the school falls in love with the priest’s daughter, a girl who doesn’t worry about what other people think, a girl who is opposite a cool girl?

Mandy Moore plays in the movie Jaime and Shane West plays Landon. Faith is the most important thing in the Jamies life even if it costs him friends. Landon excelled at school on looks and character. Landon’s friends used to make fun of people different from them like Jaime. This finishes when Landon starts to go out with Jaime.

This is a romantic film, and I like this type of films so much. What I like the most was the love that appears between the two youngers. I was pleasantly surprised by Jamie’s disease. This is a beautiful play that would be appeal to most teenagers and adults. If you get a chance to see it, don’t miss it!!.

In the next video you can see the trailer of the film. I hope you like it.

THE END OF BULLFIGHTS

The bullfighting tradition remains strong in much of Spain, but last 25th of September the last bullfight took place in Catalonia. La Monumental arena in central Barcelona hosted its last bullfight; it was the end of more than 600 years of history.

The law which let this kind of activities with animals was abolished by the Parliament a few months ago.
It created a huge polemic and the people got revolutionized.
But the point is whether the law was forbidden to protect the bulls or for political reasons. As I guess it the truth is that the politicians haven’t decided it not only for the animals' welfare but yes for the symbol of it. The main reason is that bullfights are a symbol of Spanish nationalism and they want to avoid this, they think that it makes us different. However, I believe that we have achieved something brilliant because the bulls won’t be mistreated anymore.

In my opinion the “Correbous” should be banned too, but they haven’t  done it yet. Why not? Probably because it isn’t a symbol of Spanish nationalism. This is the only really important thing for politicians !!.

A summer to not forget

This summer I have lived some great moments and some less good moments, however  I have fun and laughed a lot. In this post I will tell you some of them.
Firstly I will write about an unexpected and disgusting moment which fortunately ended with a brilliant way, and then, I will write about a new experience.

When the summer starts I usually travel with my family, and this year wasn’t different, but the way of travel was a bit different. Since I was little we had traveled by motorhome, this summer instead of it we traveled by plane, we went to Lisbon.

The flight was OK, we arrived to the airport and caught the bus to centre of Lisbon. We went to the hotel which my father had booked the week before. The receptionist gave us a dreadful notice about the room we had booked, with just a second a problem had come up for us. He told us that the same day an accident had taken place in our supposed room, as a consequence we weren’t able to sleep there that night. Fortunately the man recommended us an other hotel, obviously we accepted the man’s advice. Despite the small problem we slept in a brilliant hotel, and we could enjoy a lot during the week we were there.

This summer I went to the “Camp Nou” , I have never been there before so it was an interesting experience. We did a tour called “Camp nou experience”.
We used an offer of the "Pack Jove Tour 2011", with this offer you can buy two tickets and you only have to pay one of them.

In this tour you are able to visit the museum, where you can see the history of the club and players, the trophies which they have won and a few other things. You can also go to the stands but obviously you can’t walk into the grass. At the end of the visit you can spend some time into the multimedia room.

There are some of the things that I have done during the summer, I have done a lot of more things but I can’t write about each one of them. Currently the course has started and we have to study hard. However I am really looking forward to the next summer.
